Integration of many-to-many relationships (w/ foreign keys) - wpdatatable dependent multiselect box#249

It would be useful to implement a feature where two primary keys can be defined, so in the backend there automatically an intermediate table will be created and in the front-end/wpdt UI a multiselect box will be presented with value dependency of the other table.
In front-end this feature will complement the current one-to-many relationship ability which can be displayed as a single-select box.

Yes please! Also along the lines of… you select one piece of data in one column and another column is filled automatically in relation to the completion of the first column.

Interesting ideas, here from a viewpoint of an upcoming user of the product… I’m afraid the many-to-many relationship is quite a task for them to implement though.

i really dont understand whts the issue of implementing this feature by having additional foreign key configured in a database???? for now trying to create many-to-many relation i get internal server error even if i have 2 unique columns in a table

As years are passing, I think the lack of this feature is becoming more and more critical every day, since there are other very good products out there which can handle many-to-many relation. It’s a major thing and a deciding factor for many when selecting a suitable product, which most likely cannot be said about a large amount of the other feature suggestions.

I remember reading from the blog that you’re actively studying competition… well, it’s about time to study how to implement this feature, otherwise people may start switching to alternatives.

In my main project, after the planning stages, I realized I would definitely be needing this feature too. So I’ve postponed proceeding with the project and so far only have been testing the other features I need.
Waiting for something to happen with this, but won’t be waiting too long.
